The Templar & The Duke is the third expansion for Stronghold Crusader 2, bringing a fresh Crusader Trail campaign and two new AI opponents: The Templar, a ruthless crusader, and The Duke, a foppish nobleman. Each lord has unique castle designs and army compositions, challenging players to adapt their strategies.
The campaign consists of seven missions that escalate in difficulty, culminating in a tough final assault up a mountain. Players must manage alliances, fend off bandits, and outmaneuver their primary foes. The DLC also introduces ten new achievements, five custom shields, and new castle types tailored to each lord.
The Templar is a hardened veteran who recruits only the toughest soldiers and builds rigid, defensible castles. His unwavering conviction makes him a formidable opponent. The Duke, in contrast, relies on wealth and political cunning, constructing elaborate segmented castles with unconventional layouts that can confuse attackers.
