Combat Mission: Final Blitzkrieg (CMFB) is a tactical-level wargame that puts you in command of battalion and smaller units during the Western Allies' push into Germany from October 1944 to January 1945. The game focuses on the American sector of the Battle of the Bulge, where harsh winter weather and rugged terrain made every engagement a brutal test of skill. Whether you're assaulting Aachen or defending against Kampfgruppe Peiper, CMFB delivers an authentic and challenging simulation of World War II combat.

The game features two expansive campaigns: one following American forces into Aachen, the first major German city to fall, and the other portraying Kampfgruppe Peiper's famous drive into American lines. Additionally, there is a training campaign, 25 standalone scenarios, and numerous Quick Battle maps. The Quick Battle system allows you to set up deliberate or randomized battles, giving you endless replayability. Play solo, hotseat, or via Play By Email (PBEM).

CMFB simulates soft factors like morale, experience, and leadership, alongside innovative systems for fog of war, spotting, line of sight, command & control, and objectives. Realistic physics and ballistics affect every shot and explosion. Buildings have explicitly modeled doors, windows, and floors, and soldier posture (prone, kneeling, standing) impacts spotting, cover, and engagement. Weather and ground conditions dynamically affect visibility and mobility, from dry sunny days to muddy stormy nights.

The game introduces the final array of German heavy armor, including King Tigers, while American forces receive improved armor like the M36 tank destroyer. Organizational changes in both sides' formations present new tactical challenges. Three regions (Dutch, French, German) add authentic accents and atmosphere. The 1m x 1m resolution maps allow for both short-range and long-range engagements across complex terrain, with separate Line of Sight and Line of Fire calculations adding depth.

Combat Mission: Final Blitzkrieg offers a unique hybrid system for RealTime or WeGo (turn-based) play, letting you choose your preferred pace. The full-featured Editor lets you create custom maps, scenarios, and campaigns.
