Reign of the Warlock is a major DLC expansion for Diablo II: Resurrected, introducing a new playable class, the Warlock, who wields demonic and eldritch powers. This content pack adds over 40 new Unique items, new sets, and runewords, expanding build possibilities for all classes. The expansion also reworks Terror Zones, giving players control over where they fight, and adds a new endgame boss encounter: the Colossal Ancients.

The Warlock class offers three distinct skill trees: Demon, which focuses on summoning and enslaving hellspawn; Eldritch, which imbues weapons with mental magic for devastating melee attacks; and Chaos, which unleashes fire and shadow magic for ranged destruction. This versatility allows for multiple playstyles, from pet-based summoner to spell-slinging caster or hybrid warrior.

A new Chronicle system tracks all items collected across your account, rewarding progression with unique cosmetic and gameplay bonuses. The Loot Filter helps you quickly identify valuable gear, while updated Stash Tabs with dedicated sections for gems, materials, and runes streamline inventory management. You can also toggle between the original Diablo II graphics and the remastered visuals.

The expansion includes cross-game rewards for Diablo IV and World of Warcraft. In Diablo IV, you unlock the Kervek the Putrid Pet and Forbidden Tethers Back Trophy. In World of Warcraft, you receive the Horadric Cube Housing Item. These rewards are tied to your Battle.net account and are available upon purchasing the DLC.

Reign of the Warlock is designed for players who have completed the base game and seek new challenges. The Colossal Ancients boss fight requires coordinated parties and optimized builds, offering some of the toughest encounters in the game. The DLC also introduces new quality-of-life features that enhance the classic Diablo II experience without altering its core feel.
